Baseball Game Preview: Happy Camp Indians vs. Plumas Charter Warriors

The Happy Camp Indians are taking a road trip to square off against the Plumas Charter Warriors at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Happy Camp has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight defeats, while Plumas Charter will come in with ten straight victories.

Happy Camp came up short against Loyalton on Monday, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Plumas Charter gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Chester 5-4.

Zac Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Dalton Bentz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Plumas Charter's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Happy Camp, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
