Preview: West Lincoln Bears vs. Amite County Trojans
West Lincoln is 10-0 against Amite County since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The West Lincoln Bears have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Amite County Trojans at 6:30 p.m. West Lincoln will be strutting in after a win while Amite County will be coming in after a defeat.
West Lincoln has not done well against Wesson recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. West Lincoln walked away with an 8-4 victory over Wesson. The win was just what West Lincoln needed coming off of a 12-0 loss in their prior contest.
West Lincoln's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Dillon, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI. Dillon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Segrest, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Amite County fell victim to Tylertown and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. Their rough 10-0 defeat to the Chiefs might stick with them for a while. The game marked that first time this year in which Amite County was not able to get on the board.
West Lincoln's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Amite County, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
