Basketball Recap: Mountain Vista Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Mountain Vista extended their home winning streak to 11 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Oliver Junker. The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Douglas County Huskies 79-46 thanks in part to Junker, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

Cal Baskind was another key player, going 7 for 11 en route to 19 points. He has been hot, having posted 17 or more points the last six times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Douglas County lost, don't look at Roman Saiz. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Dale, who had 16 points.

Mountain Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.9 points per game. As for Douglas County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Mountain Vista will challenge Legend at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mountain Vista's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Douglas County, they will square off against Mountain Range at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Douglas County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.5 points per game this season.
