Basketball Recap: Laramie Falls Short Against Ranked Sheridan

On Saturday, Laramie faced Sheridan in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Laramie Plainsmen fell 75-67 to the Sheridan Broncs. The Plainsmen have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Several Plainsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Neil Summers, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Alexander, who went 7-for-15 en route to 20 points.

Laramie's loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Sheridan, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laramie will face off against East at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Sheridan, they will square off against Campbell County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Sheridan has won six straight at home, while Campbell County won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
