Softball Recap: Mt. Mansfield Comes Up Short

Mt. Mansfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Essex Hornets, falling 19-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-2 on May 6th.

Mt. Mansfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Gillilan, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Gillilan has hit this season.

Mt. Mansfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Essex, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Mansfield will welcome St. Johnsbury Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Essex, they will face off against Bellows Free Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
