Basketball Recap: Franklin Triumphs

Franklin fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the Elba Bluejays by a score of 49-42 on Thursday. This was payback for the Flyers, who suffered a 27-17 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Elba saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addison Wysocki dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 50% of Elba's points, marking the fourth time in a row Wysocki has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was JarahLynn Morrow, who had eight points and six boards.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Elba, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Franklin has already played their next contest, a 35-27 defeat against Axtell on the 15th. As for Elba, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 44-22 victory against Palmer on the 17th.
