Basketball Recap: Chatfield Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Chatfield had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 64-57 win over the Houston Hurricanes on Monday. The Gophers' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Despite the loss, Houston still got an impressive performance from Carter Geiwitz, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Morgan Rohweder, who posted 13 points.

Chatfield's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11. As for Houston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Chatfield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Caledonia at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Caledonia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Houston, they will host Schaeffer Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Houston is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season.
