Basketball Game Preview: Venus Bulldogs vs. Kennedale Wildcats

Venus is 0-9 against Kennedale since January of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Venus Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Kennedale Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Venus ended up a good deal behind Life Waxahachie and lost 67-52. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 697th, while the Mustangs are ranked 259th).

Meanwhile, Kennedale had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They managed a 70-65 victory over the Mustangs.

Venus' defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Kennedale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season.

Venus suffered a grim 78-54 defeat to Kennedale in their previous matchup back in January. Can Venus avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
