Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Patrick Henry's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Bonita Vista Barons on Thursday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Zoe Rutherford put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Patrick Henry dropped their record down to 8-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bonita Vista, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will take on Cathedral Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bonita Vista, they will square off against Poway at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
