Soccer Game Preview: Irwin County vs. Worth County

The Irwin County Indians will kick their season off against the Worth County Rams on Tuesday. Kickoff is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.

Worth County will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Crisp County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Worth County who was credited with the win on Thursday. Worth County got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Crisp County's four. The victory was familiar territory for the Rams, who have now won three contests in a row.

Their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

As for Irwin County, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they had a phenomenal run, finishing with a superb 8-3 record.

Irwin County came up short against Worth County in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Irwin County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
