Baseball Recap: Titusville's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak at Home

Titusville dropped their record down to 15-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against Slippery Rock, falling 13-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Slippery Rock this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 back in April.

Brody Sellen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ian McDonald, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Slippery Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

On Slippery Rock's side, Parker Dalcamo was incredible, firing off two home runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those five RBI gave Dalcamo a new career-high. Isaac McCandless was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Titusville will square off against North Star at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Slippery Rock, they will host Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
