Baseball Game Preview: Valmeyer Pirates vs. Gibault Catholic Hawks

Valmeyer hasn't had much luck against Gibault Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pirates will host the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Valmeyer is headed into Wednesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They lost 14-3 to Waterloo.

Valmeyer saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Blanchard, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Breese Central hit Gibault Catholic with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Cougars, falling 11-3. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
