Volleyball Recap: Shelton Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Cheshire came into Monday's contest looking for another win against Shelton, but Cooper Bacca wouldn't allow it. The Gaels came out on top against the Rams by a score of 3-1 on Monday thanks in part to Bacca, who had 28 digs and two assists. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 23-25, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Cheshire still got an impressive performance from James O'Connor, who had 15 digs.

The victory made it two in a row for Shelton and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Cheshire, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

The future could be bright for both Shelton and Cheshire: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Gaels will try to hand Amity Regional their third-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cheshire will look to extend Hand's six-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
