Baseball Recap: Winneconne Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waupun, Winneconne was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbirds 6-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Winneconne's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Colson Kleinschmidt, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Kleinschmidt a new career-high. Logan Binder also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Winneconne's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Iola-Scandinavia, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winneconne will host Ripon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iola-Scandinavia, they will face off against Shiocton at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
