Football Recap: Burbank Comes Up Short

Burbank fell victim to Florin and their airtight defense on Monday. They were dealt a 46-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Jayda Lewis went supernova For Florin., rushing for 124 yards and two TDs on only nine carries, while also catching one score. Those 124 rushing yards gave Lewis a new career-high. Zavanna Payne was another key player, picking up 54 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Burbank's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Florin, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burbank will head out to square off against Foothill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Titans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Florin, they will venture away from home to challenge Monterey Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
