Basketball Game Preview: Evergreen Plainsmen vs. Mountain View Thunder

Evergreen and Mountain View are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Evergreen Plainsmen will head out to challenge the Mountain View Thunder at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Evergreen ended up a good deal behind Heritage and lost 76-60. The Plainsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Mountain View had just enough and edged Kelso out 62-59 on Friday. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Hilanders are ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mountain View has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Evergreen might still be hurting after the 63-39 loss they got from Mountain View in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Evergreen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
