After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westlake, Austin was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They really took it to the McNeil Mavericks for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-29 victory. The Maroons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Jillian Shirk continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 12 on her way to 18 points in addition to five boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Miya Johnson, who posted 12 points.

Austin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for McNeil, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Austin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-52 win against Tompkins on the 27th. As for McNeil, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 39-21 defeat against Chaparral on the 27th.
