Basketball Recap: Southern Find Success

Southern won the last time they faced Diller-Odell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southern Raiders walked away with a 47-40 win over the Diller-Odell Griffin. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Several Griffin players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Morgan, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and three blocks. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Novotny, who put up 11 points and five boards.

The victory got Southern back to even at 7-7. As for Diller-Odell, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-7.

Southern will challenge Sterling on Friday. Southern is facing Sterling at the right time seeing as Sterling is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Diller-Odell, they will square off against Lawrence-Nelson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrence-Nelson will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Diller-Odell surely won't give up without a fight.
