Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Brook Spartans vs. St. Edward Eagles

The Mountain Brook Spartans will head out to face off against the St. Edward Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain Brook's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so St. Edward's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Mountain Brook is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Lincoln County, who was ranked 11th in their home state at the time (Mountain Brook was ranked 25th). Mountain Brook put the hurt on Lincoln County with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Edward fell victim to Hartselle and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Tigers.
