Basketball Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Takes a Loss

If Arcadia/Loup City was riding high fresh off their 54-28 takedown of Nebraska Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels were dealt a 71-39 defeat at the hands of the Central City Bison on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bison: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite the defeat, Arcadia/Loup City had strong showings from Eli Jaixen, who posted 11 points, and Max Lewandowski, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points and five boards.

It was another big night for Colter Lueders, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds for Central City. Lueders has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times he's played. Jakob Ruhl was another key player, putting up 14 points and seven rebounds.

Arcadia/Loup City's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Central City, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Arcadia/Loup City is taking a road trip to square off against Ansley/Litchfield at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th. Ansley/Litchfield will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Arcadia/Loup City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central City, they will take on Doniphan-Trumbull in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Doniphan-Trumbull's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.
