Sandia Prep is a perfect 10-0 against Cottonwood Classical Prep since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Sandia Prep Sundevils will square off against the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sandia Prep is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of East Mountain by a score of 51-48. While the Sundevils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Timberwolves 12-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Cottonwood Classical Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-34 loss at the hands of Bosque. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Bobcats are ranked 45th).

Cottonwood Classical Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Sandia Prep, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-11.

Sandia Prep strolled past Cottonwood Classical Prep in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a score of 64-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandia Prep since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
