Soccer Game Preview: Fairmont Prep vs. Samueli Academy

The Fairmont Prep Huskies will venture away from home to square off against the Samueli Academy Firewolves at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Fairmont Prep's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Fairmont Prep's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Capistrano Valley Christian.

Meanwhile, Samueli Academy's game on Friday was all tied up 2-2 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged Western Christian out 4-3. The high-scoring effort was just what the Firewolves needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

Isaac Barriga and Izaiah De La Torre scored all four of Samueli Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 22 goals.

Samueli Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five games. As for Fairmont Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3-2.
