Softball Recap: Riverbend Beats Caroline for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Riverbend never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past the Caroline Cavaliers 14-0. With that victory, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Jameson Snell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Riverbend got a big performance out of Norah Clark, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Isa Barber also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The win (which was Riverbend's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Caroline, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.

Riverbend has already played their next matchup, a 14-0 win against Massaponax on the 14th. As for Caroline, they will face off against King George at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Foxes have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
