Baseball Recap: Fontana Takes a Loss

Fontana suffered their closest loss since February 28th on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Arroyo Valley Hawks by a score of 9-7. The Steelers haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Oscar Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anthony Benard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Fontana's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Arroyo Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

While Fontana had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
