Softball Game Preview: Riverton Hawks vs. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays

Riverton is 0-8 against PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Hawks will head out to take on the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Riverton fell victim to Williamsville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 19-0 to the Bullets. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Meanwhile, PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Maroa-Forsyth, falling 8-2.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Regan Heubner, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Kaydence Hamm also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Riverton suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
