Baseball Game Preview: Bruton Panthers vs. Grafton Clippers

Bruton is 1-9 against Grafton since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Bruton will challenge Grafton at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bruton not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024. Everything went their way against Northampton as Bruton made off with an 11-3 victory.

Peyton Jones looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Bruton got a big performance out of Ty Yates, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Wyatt Marquart was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Grafton beat Poquoson 6-1 on Friday.

Bruton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Grafton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Bruton suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Grafton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Bruton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
