Softball Game Preview: Travis Rebels vs. Manor New Tech

The Travis Rebels will square off against Manor New Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Travis came up short against Eastside Early College on Friday, falling 16-1. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, Manor New Tech put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They never let Eastside Early College get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. Manor New Tech might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 17 runs or more this season.

Lelani Ceballos was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Aaliyah Sinnie was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Alexis Sinnie was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases.

Manor New Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Travis skirted past Manor New Tech 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2020. Will Travis repeat their success, or does Manor New Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
