Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

Shadow Ridge was the 3-1 winner over Palo Verde when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Panthers on Wednesday. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

While Shadow Ridge was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-20.

Mia Scott paced Shadow Ridge's offense, picking up eight kills. Scott got some help from Lea Scott and her 21 assists. Lea was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Shadow Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 20-16. As for Palo Verde, their win bumped their record up to 14-16.

Coming up, Shadow Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palo Verde, they will head out on the road to challenge Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
