Proviso East came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Hinsdale South Hornets 65-51. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Hornets are ranked 469th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Proviso East's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarret Swift, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramsey Momon, who had 12 points.

Proviso East's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Hinsdale South, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-14.

Proviso East has already played their next matchup, a 62-34 win against Downers Grove South on the 17th. As for Hinsdale South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-41 victory against Berwyn/Cicero Morton on the 17th.
