Basketball Recap: Bell Comes Up Short

Bell lost against Banneker back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bell Griffins were outmatched by the Banneker Bulldogs and fell 68-25. The Griffins just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Bell lost, don't look at Jakari Graham. Despite the final result, he posted seven points along with six boards and three steals. Graham is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rechab Tekle, who had four points.

It was another big night for Jason Afeni, who earned 15 points and three steals for Banneker. Another player making a difference was Amari Thomas, who posted 11 points.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Banneker, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.

Bell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 72-26 loss against Woodson on the 18th. As for Banneker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-50 victory against Bard on the 18th.
