Basketball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

Mountainside suffered their biggest loss since February 14th on Tuesday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the West Linn Lions an easy 54-30 win. The Mavericks haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for West Linn, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Mountainside will be taking part in a tournament against Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th. As for West Linn, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sherwood at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sherwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully West Linn likes a good challenge.
