Preview: Riverwood Raiders vs. Dunwoody Wildcats
The Riverwood Raiders will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Dunwoody Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Riverwood suffered a tough 49-26 defeat at the hands of Westlake. While losing is never fun, Riverwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Westlake is ranked 20th).
Despite the defeat, Riverwood got a solid performance out of Lizzie McGrath, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. McGrath scored a full 57.7% of Riverwood's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was May Weis, who scored 5 points along with 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Dunwoody, who are still winless after their tenth matchup. They fell just short of Lithonia by a score of 46-43.
Their wins bumped Riverwood to 4-2 and Westlake to 6-0.
Riverwood took their win against Dunwoody in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 49-27. Will Riverwood repeat their success, or does Dunwoody have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
