Basketball Recap: Wamego Comes Up Short

If Wamego was riding high fresh off their 90-20 takedown of Independent last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wamego Red Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 43-42 to the Clay Center Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Wamego's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Clay Center, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wamego will face off against Marysville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clay Center, they will square off against Council Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Council Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.
