Volleyball Recap: Avon Park Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Avon Park and Cardinal Mooney squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Avon Park had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Cougars when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-15, 25-12.

DeeAnna Turner paced Avon Park's offense, picking up two kills. Turner got some help from Peyton Cobb and her four assists. Maci Albritton controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Avon Park dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Cardinal Mooney, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Avon Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Mooney, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Berkeley Prep at 6:00 p.m.
