Recap: Randall Raiders vs. Canyon Eagles
If The Randall Raiders were feeling good off their 49-7 takedown of the Pampa Harvesters last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Randall was beaten by Canyon 48-7 on Friday. Randall was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Tryston Sanchez threw for 87 yards and a touchdown. Conner Miller was his top target, picking up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Canyon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Samuel Johnson led the charge by rushing for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Ryan Rivera and his 141 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Canyon's win.
Randall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Canyon, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Randall will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hereford at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Brylyn Lopez and Dylan Ray. As for Canyon, they will head out on the road to face off against Dumas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dumas will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Canyon is ranked 240th).
