Basketball Recap: Union Grove Christian Extends Winning Streak to Three

Union Grove Christian entered their tilt with Vandalia Christian on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Vandalia Christian Vikings 42-25. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 35-29 last Thursday.

Union Grove Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madi Jeffreys led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Those 13 boards gave Jeffreys a new career-high. Zoey Stiltner was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Piper Martin, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Steele, who earned seven points.

Union Grove Christian's record is now 17-11. As for Vandalia Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Union Grove Christian has already played their next contest, a 39-36 loss against New Manna Christian on the 7th. As for Vandalia Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-30 victory against Oak Level Baptist Academy on the 10th.
