Softball Game Preview: Ridgeline Falcons vs. Mead Panthers

Ridgeline is 0-6 against Mead since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Falcons will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Ridgeline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.

Ridgeline will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating University, who they had gone 0-7 against in their seven prior meetings. The Falcons walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Titans on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Falcons, who have now won three matchups in a row.

The team relied heavily on Lilley Triplett, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Mead made easy work of Gonzaga Prep on Tuesday and carried off a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Mead and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Ridgeline, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Ridgeline couldn't quite finish off Mead when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
