Softball Preview: Randleman Tigers vs. Uwharrie Charter Eagles        
        
		
            
 Randleman is 0-6 against Uwharrie Charter since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The Randleman Tigers will head out on the road to  challenge  the Uwharrie Charter Eagles at 6:00  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 While Randleman has not struggled against Eastern Randolph recently, they managed to flip the script  last Thursday. Randleman came out on top against Eastern Randolph by a score of  8-3. Randleman had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.
  Kinzie Ivey made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Ivey was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played.
 In other batting news, Randleman let  Lyric Chriscoe and  Addyson Dees loose on the outfield. Chriscoe  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, while  Dees  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.  Kaylee Phillips was another key contributor,  going 1-for-2 with three  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season  last Thursday. Everything went their way against Wesleyan Christian Academy as Uwharrie Charter made off with  a  17-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Uwharrie Charter considering their one-run performance the  match before.
 Like Randleman, Uwharrie Charter also got a great game from a two-way player:  Mollie Bulla. She  struck out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned run off   one  hit. Bulla was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Delaney Aldrich, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Aubrie Kauffman, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Randleman pushed their record up to 8-1 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.3 runs per game. As for Uwharrie Charter, their record now sits at 9-1.
 Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Monday. Randleman hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.5  home runs per game. However, it's not like Uwharrie Charter struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.7. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Randleman came up short against Uwharrie Charter in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023, falling  6-3. Can Randleman avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
