Travis Kost put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Thursday. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Kost's effort led Davenport over La Vernia and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
