Basketball Game Preview: Morehead Panthers vs. T.W. Andrews Red Raiders

The Morehead Panthers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the T.W. Andrews Red Raiders at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Morehead took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They strolled past Bassett with points to spare, taking the game 62-48.

Meanwhile, T.W. Andrews unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 68-57 to West Forsyth. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Titans are ranked 27th).

Morehead is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for T.W. Andrews, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Everything went Morehead's way against T.W. Andrews when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Morehead made off with a 75-52 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morehead since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
