St. Vincent-St. Mary was the 8-3 winner over St. Edward when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Fighting Irish fell 7-2 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Fighting Irish's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Logan Henderson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zack Kurkey, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

St. Vincent-St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for St. Edward, their record is now 8-10.

St. Vincent-St. Mary and St. Edward should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Fighting Irish will face off against Coventry at 5:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (110 vs. 654). Meanwhile, St. Edward (ranked 156th) will meet Kenston (ranked 461st) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
