Football Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for New Brockton

There's no place like home for New Brockton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Straughn Tigers 13-10. For the Gamecocks, this counts as revenge for the 36-33 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Anthony Silar produced another solid performance rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown, while also picking up 40 receiving yards.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Charlie Jordan, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD. Straughn also got a significant boost from Tate Watson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 116 yards.

New Brockton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.5 points over those games. As for Straughn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
