Basketball Game Preview: Harts Bluff Bulldogs vs. Rivercrest Rebels

The Harts Bluff Bulldogs will take on the Rivercrest Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Harts Bluff is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Bowie on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Harts Bluff came up short against Bowie, falling 62-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Rivercrest's and Pewitt's contest on Friday was close at halftime, but Rivercrest turned on the heat in the second half with 38 points. Rivercrest took their match with ease, bagging a 53-24 win over Pewitt.

Rivercrest's win came from a few key players Harts Bluff will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Diana Kelley, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Henry, who had eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Rivercrest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Rivercrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-20. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points per game. As for Harts Bluff, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-12.

Harts Bluff strolled past Rivercrest when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 43-27. Does Harts Bluff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rivercrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
