Baseball Recap: North Allegheny Comes Up Short

North Allegheny came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Penn-Trafford Warriors, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since March 19th.

North Allegheny got a good showing from Preston Howard, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, North Allegheny saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miles Pealer, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Pealer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

North Allegheny's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3. As for Penn-Trafford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Allegheny will venture away from home to take on Fox Chapel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Foxes will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Penn-Trafford, they will head out to face off against Penn Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of.
