Football Game Preview: Navarro Vikings vs. Elgin Wildcats

The Navarro Vikings will venture away from home to square off against the Elgin Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Navarro has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since September 5.

Navarro's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against McCallum on Friday. They were beaten by the Knights 63-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1112th, while the Knights are ranked 547th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Elgin faced off against Pflugerville Connally on Friday. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 49-7.

Navarro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-8.

Navarro took a serious blow against Elgin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 55-7. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Vikings were down 41-0.
