Softball Game Preview: Stone Memorial Panthers vs. Upperman Bees

Stone Memorial is 0-10 against Upperman since April of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. Stone Memorial will host Upperman at 5:30 p.m. Neither Stone Memorial nor Upperman posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Stone Memorial and White County meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again last Tuesday. Stone Memorial fell just short of White County by a score of 3-2. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Kenzie Jackson put in work no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Jackson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camdyn Holbrook, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Upperman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against DeKalb County, falling 8-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Having lost for the first time this season, Stone Memorial fell to 5-1. As for Upperman, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
