Softball Recap: Indian Creek's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Indian Creek's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Amboy Clippers with a sharp 12-3 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Timberwolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Avery Boehne made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off ten hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, MaKenna Barshinger was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Gretta Oziah also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Indian Creek's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Amboy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Creek will take on Hiawatha at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Amboy, they will challenge Milledgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
