Volleyball Recap: Harrison Panthers vs. Palmer Terrors
Harrison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Palmer Terrors. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Terrors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
Harrison was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-16.
Imani Warner paced Harrison's offense, picking up seven kills. Warner got some help from Audriyna Uribe and her six assists. Lexy Wilson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Leading Palmer to victory were Taytum Soppe-Cope and Audrenna Gemmeke-Hall. Soppe-Cope had 11 digs and seven aces, while Gemmeke-Hall had six digs and five aces. With that strong performance, Gemmeke-Hall is now averaging an impressive 12.3 assists per game. Evelyn Sheridan also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.
Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Palmer, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Harrison is set to square off against their familiar foe Canon City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Palmer will challenge rival Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
