Preview: West Wolfpack vs. Tracy Bulldogs
West is 0-9 against Tracy since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The West Wolfpack will head out on the road to face off against the Tracy Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. West is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Last Friday, West took a serious blow against Lincoln, falling 57-6. While losing is never fun, West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 612th, while Lincoln is ranked 193rd).
Meanwhile, Tracy stacked a third blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They came out on top against Lodi by a score of 42-14 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). The win was just what Tracy needed coming off of a 42-14 defeat in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Aidan VanOs, who threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Rocco Mendicino did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown.
West now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Tracy, their victory was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
West was dealt a bruising 48-7 loss at the hands of Tracy when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
