Recap: Valley View Tigers vs. Hidalgo Pirates
It was a good run, but the Valley View Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Hidalgo by a score of 49-46. Valley View has not had much luck with Hidalgo recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Hidalgo found their leader in underclassman Javier Martinez, who scored 20 points along with 7 steals. Martinez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Rafael Galvan was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Hidalgo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Valley View will head out on the road to face off against Donna at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hidalgo, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dekaney at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
